Product Mentor Coaching Education - MCS and Beyond Part 1 only

Beyond Compliance: Mentor Coaching Training for Quality, Rigour and Enjoyment

Designed for MCS applicants via the Credit for Prior Learning Path (20 hrs certificate) or for MCS Standard application who already have some synchronous MCE hours towards the required 20.5 synch MCE hours minimum. Part 1 offers a 20 hours MCE certificate - 10 hours synch and 10 hours asynch.
For those who need the full 41+ hours for the MCS Standard application, Part 2 adds the extra hours, Those who complete Part 1 + Part 2 are issued with a 44 MCE hours certificate - 22 synch and 22 asynch.
The curriculum design and course materials provide a synthesis of ICF mentor coaching requirements, mentor coaching competencies and resources - everything in one place
Activity based learning, reflective practice and deliberate practice offer opportunities to review, refine and expand your mentor coaching style and services.
The certificate gives you credit for your work done outside of classes - eg reading of ICF documents, (re) designing your mentor coaching system

Structure and design:

Part 1 has 5 modules and more than meets the 10 hours mentor coaching education requirement for MCS Credit for Prior Learning Application. You'll receive a certificate for 20 hours - 10 synch / real time and 10 asynch / self study.
Each module requires participation in a two-hour class online via zoom.

If you have already completed some mentor coaching education towards the required 41 hours for the MCS Standard application pathway, Part 1 allows you to top up with 10 synch hours plus 10 asynch hours.

You may count 20.5 asynch hours or more for an MCS Standard application (50%)

Certificates and Attendance

The MCS Credit for Prior Learning application requires at least 10 hours of mentor coaching education, all of which may be asynchronous.
Part 1 of the course provides 10 hours of synchronous / real time classes + 10 hours credit for asynchronous / self study activities.
The Part 1 certificate offers up to 20 hours mentor coaching education.
The MCS Standard application requires at least 41 hours of mentor coaching education.
Part 1 + 2 of the course offers a total of 44 hours - 22 hours of synchronous / real time classes + 22 hours credit for asynchronous / self study activities.
To receive a full completion 41 hours certificate, attendance at 21 hours of synchronous / real time classes is required. In the case of non-attendance due to medical, family responsibility or personal hardship / tragedy, arrangements to secure a completion certificate will be discussed. Please note that non-attendance due to competing work commitments, child care that is non-emergency / unexpected, and planned travel, are discouraged as it may not be possible to meet the ICF requirements that 50% attendance of the 41 hours MUST be synchronous / real time.

Payment in 3 instalments as follows: deposit prior to start of course plus two date linked payments. As part payments incur additional bank charges and require additional admin time, the fee for the course is slightly higher than if paid in full prior to the start.
Payment by arrangement - please make sure to contact Svea prior to the start of the course to discuss and finalise your request.
If a participant is unable to attend a course they have registered and paid / part paid for, a refund will usually not be considered. Instead, a place on a future course, arranging for someone else who is eligible to attend to do so, or an equivalent service / product will be discussed.

Confidentiality, data privacy and security, use of technology including AI-assisted review of coaching recordings

Mentor coaching education requires the sharing and storing of coaching recordings and hence client information. Please make sure that any recordings you submit or share during the course have the WRITTEN permission from the client PRIOR to recording the coaching session.
The course includes exploring the use of AI agents in the mentor coaching work undertaken by mentor coaches.
It also requires making transcriptions from coaching recordings and / or reviewing recordings via AI agents. Each participant is responsible for verifying the ethical alignment of any AI that the participant makes use of / shares during the course.
The course makes use of zoom for the realtime / synchronous classes. Recording of classes may take place for the purpose of enhancing learning, and for use by participants. The fact that a recording is being made is visible transparently to all in the zoom room. At any point a participant is free to request that the recording be paused and then restarted. This will be discussed in the first class.
Voice to text transcription in zoom. This feature is available as it supports the learning of those who speak a language other than English as their everyday language. It transcribes verbatim what is being said. It can be set to a variety of languages. It is different from the zoom AI companion - which produces summaries, sometimes with significant inaccuracies in making making.
